Don't you wish you could get a GPS update of where the UPS/FedEx guy is on route...

So you don't have to wait all day excited for your package, looking outside every time you hear a car door close. (which i am currently doing)

This needs to be an addition to tracking numbers. or an iPhone app.
Just a thought.

*While at work watching UPS GPS updates*
_________
"oh yes! The UPS guy is at my house! My wife will sign for the package"
then 30 min later
"That's odd... the UPS truck is still at my house...."
Day ruined.
__________

Or it's a great way to ambush the guy en route. >:)

LOL, I did that dance yesterday! I was waiting on my RRM mattebox and followfocus kits. Had to step out to take my son to preschool and was freaking out about missing my package. All ended well and I got to play with my toys all evening.

One time UPS left a note on the door while I was still home... Next day I sat 10' from the front door with the door open and the storm door closed but I could see through the storm door and the UPS guy could see me sitting there working on my laptop. I heard a thump... looked.... NOTE on door! I ran to the door and saw him running to his truck! I eventually had to go to the main office to get the package.

The next time I waited all day, called and they said it was delivered. I saw no package.. How could I miss a 21" monitor (CRT no less!)?? I went to check mail box... there was my monitor sitting out by the garage door for all the neighbors to see with plain writing on the side "21" Sony FD Trinitron"... Thank goodness it was still there!

Waiting right now for my package. Following the package update info on google maps.... should be here by now.... it was forty minutes away two hours ago...

forty minutes away two hours ago! You must have fallen into some rip in space that opened.....that must be the only explanation these guys are always on time! ;)

I moved begining of the year and where I am now UPS shows up either around 10am or 7pm!!! WTF!!!!? You know how hard it is to have that wide of a f-ing gap in estimated delivery time!!!??? On a related note, I have grown to hate school buses, they sound too damn much like UPS trucks!

When I first moved into my current place, I waited for days for the DSL modem to show up. Finally, I called either UPS or FedEx (I can't remember who delivered it) asking what the heck was going on. The lady on the phone said according to her records, it was left on the back door step. I told her I lived in a condo, I don't have a back door step. Then a light went off... I went and looked on my balcony. It was there, having sat in the pouring rain for two days. It also had to have been thrown ten feet for it to get there. I told the person on the phone this, and let her know I was not amused.

This reminds me of a great song...one of those Bud Light "Real Men Of Genius" commercials..."Mr Dishonest Cable TV Hooker-Upper"...check it out.

...between 9 and 4:30....

Man, we have a lot of similar shipping and handling stories.

Several years ago, I was building a desktop computer. I ordered nearly EVERYTHING from Zipzoomfly. The day it was to be delivered, I was driving by the mailbox, at night, (when the forecast was calling for rain. Thank God, it didn't) and spotted this HUGE box (about 1/2 the size of a refrigerator box) just sitting there. It was $1600 dollars worth of stuff just sitting there on the road. I couldn't believe it. Mind you, the mailbox was at the end of the driveway, which was about 1/4 of a mile long, with several other mailboxes, just attractively sitting there on the ground like an open invitation.

Yes, UPS GPS would be good. Or they could slap a sticker on your package with a specific barcode with coordinates that speak directly to your GPS technologies.

ahhhhhh :Yes. I've got a package on the way now that may or may not be delivered before christmas. Oh the suspense.
