Yes i'm very confused and desperate ...

I'm shooting with mine 60D on this moment and see the short coming of this camera the shadows in the picture are very very poor so I need DR.
The scarlet is to far on this moment, the BMC was perfect option only crop factor will be hurt me a little bit got also preorder on this camera.
We all know that BMC company can't feed this camera to deliver in the next few months maybe next year who knows......
The sony or panasonic is no option because of mine zeiss EF glass..
5D mk3 is this a camera that can give more detail or more DR then the 60D ??
I don't know the effect's of HDMI out also not a big fan of HDMI out for record footage.

Is someone out there want to shoot there thought's on this thread ??

yeah - i feel ya - was waiting for that bmc - i ordered the first day at B&H - but grabbed a red one at that 4k price
Now I have to pimp it out.
good luck

Do you really need a new camera? have you invest in sound equipment, good tripod and finish your lens collection? you already have a camera, I would say use it until it die, that's what I'm doing with my t2i. There are a lot more aspect of filmmaking to learn than just the camera. However, if I were to switch, I would get the BMC, the learning experience with raw files make up for the crop factor in my opinion.

Yes I need a new camera we are moving further to the big screens with our productions and visiting festivals.
All we shoot is with the 7D , 60D and HVX200 on sleeping mode , but the short comings of grading and missing details in the shadows is getting annoying
the productions are not making much money on this moment we just impress and getting good referents.
And also planning to establish a company now together.
Yes the BMC is ideal camera except the crop don't think to easy about the crop factor in mine experience
But when will we get this camera I think it will be next year second quarter, that's year after mine preorder.
Also interested how the clean HDMI out from 5D will be match with the grading options.
Heard that cannes film festival this year 8 films in competition which is shot with the canon 5D

i'm leaving Canon 5D2 land and picking up a Panasonic GH3 :)

had a GH1 before i got my 5D2 and i really miss it, as for the 5D2... il be glad to see the back of it :p

had more fun shooting with my GH1 and once hacked it was hard to beat, a hacked GH2 is even better. and they are pretty cheap these days and deliver good bang for buck!

Yes the Red one is an option I calculate what I need near 6000 or 7000 dollar
But also mine target was to get more DR that's what really make the difference and the DR of red one is 11.3 stops that will not push me up to better performance.
Only the 4k can give me more better performance but this is absolutely not mine target when I see that must big productions shot with Panavision Genesis only 1920x1080p

Agreed on the RED, BUT I also think that while it’s nice you want a new cam, Victor was right. A new camera is one thing, but have you actually mastered your sound? Just because the pictures are pretty doesn't make an audience want to listen to juvenile sound work, if you’re spending that much on a RED be prepared to spend just as much on your sound. And twice as much on equipment for it.
