So I am on a all day shoot in the florida sunshine and lately we have had amazing weather and clear skies... The shoot goes great 6 hrs. of footage most of which looked amazing as usual with this cam. I take my eye out of the Z-Finder and walk inside and I am stricken with a 7D with Z-Finder crippling disease... I am blind in my right eye)my shooting eye) it goes away in a few hours but I then have a head ache and my eye hurts. I wake up the next morning and decide my brightness is to high and should probably turn it down. I go out side and try shooting but my blacks are now crushed and it is difficult to get the right exposure... What to do? Do you guys have any solutions to get the brightness down without crushing to much detail? Come on guys I know you can come up with some solution... you have never steered me wrong before.... thanks in advance...

Well, there is the LCD brightness setting that you could adjust so it is easier on your eye and won't affect the recorded image. You would just have to make sure that what you set the LCD to is as close to reality as possible, otherwise you could end up overexposing the image, or setting the ISO too high.

Or how about taking a break every so often if you have very light sensitive eyes?

Switch eyes while shooting.

Use a shaded monitor.

Take a break.

Turn the LCD brightness down and use your exposure meter.

Should be doable.

Yeah thats what I was saying when I turn down my brightness I over expose my shot maybe sun glasses and take them off to set up my exposure... thanks guys be sure to check out the canon vs. nikon vid...
