Does the XL H1 play FX1 tapes?

Hi guys,

I'm planning to sell my FX1 and buy a canon. I was wondering if the XL H1 would play material shot with the FX1 in HDV (normal and CF25). Because I'm in the middle of projects being shot with the FX1 and if I sell it I want to be sure I can play what I shot on a canon.

CF 25 plays out as a standard 50i HDV stream, even though the frame info isn't interlaced, so the Canon H1/A1/G1 and even HV10 should't have any problem at all.

It's just the other way around where 24F presents a problem for 60 HZ (NTSC) users.
24F will not playback in a Sony HDV deck/camera currently.

So, let me get this straight... if I have footage from my XL2 (24p) then I will be able to play them on my (newly ordered) XH A1?

Yes, any DV-compatible camcorder should be able to play any DV footage. XL2 24p footage is recorded as regular DV.
