Does the Type of SDHC card matter?

I bought the PNY 8 gig card and so far its fine. I could have gotten a Scandisk Ultra which said it did up to 15mb sec but cost twice as much. If Im only using it for video do I care how fast it writes? I also bought the HP 16 gig card for $34 so I will test that one out.
There is also the 4 gig Scandisk Ultra 3 that does up to 30 mb per sec but is $65.
Just wanted to hear from some on this site and see if the brand or write speed really mattered if your no using it for high speed photography.

Just make sure that it's at least a Class 4 card and that it has good reviews. Good reviews mean potentially better reliability and consistent speed.

The user manual recommends Class 6 cards for video, though.
