FS7: Does the original FS7 record to CFExpress cards?

Indeed no nor does the FX9. Though a Sony engineer when pushed on the matter said that Sony would wait see what the market demand was down the line. I don't think Sony are keen to go down the CFExpress card route as they still have future plans on their Sony XQD card roadmap. At the moment they haven't upped the write speed as none of the Sony cameras that use XQD require anything faster than the current 400MB speed cards. FS7 4K 60p at 600Mbps is only 75MB in write speed.

I’m pretty sure they will only add support for CFExpress if they also add codecs that demand faster speeds. Which won’t happen to the FS7.
 
Exactly, agreed! The existing codecs are well inside the specs of the existing 400MB cards.

I admit to have been out of the loop and in a hurry. But actually a google search for "fs7 cfexpress card compatibility" actually wasn't immediately definitive.

A positive result (that the FS7 did support CFexpress) would've been easier to find.
