does the GH2 HDMI-out signal drop to 480p when you start recording?

I have a SmallHD 5.6 monitor, will the GH2 allow a full 1080 HDMI out signal to the small HD monitor when you hit the record button? Or will the signal drop to 480p as it does with the Canon 60D when you hit record.

It stays at 1080i all the time, when you hit record you'll see full 1080 24p, but inside 1080i- the signal never drops out though. Plenty sharp for the small HD.

How much sense would it make to grab that signal (either before or after hitting record) with an external recorder like the ki pro? I'm guessing it would be 1080 60i which could be deinterlaced but what about bitrate & chroma?

Can anyone confirm a frame skipping problem on the HDMI output in 720p/60 or 1080i/60 modes? I haven't been able to ascertain whether those modes have been hobbled the way that the 1080/24p over 60i seems to have been.

Thanks for any info. I'd really like to use it with a nano in those 'Video modes', but not if it's gonna get skippy.
