does the a6300 overheat in 1080p?

I don't think it's worse than the 1080p of the a6000, for example, but yes, it's not as good as the a7S either.

more concerned about low light capabilities. I want to replace my GH3's. ugh or use one with the auto focus on my glidecam,.
GH3 and GH4 look bad over ISO 800. The a6300 will perform much better. AF is the best Sony has right now. Continuous AF with wide setting works pretty well.

Erik I've asked this question in a couple of other post too. May be you can help? Do you see the small green DPAF point at all on the area in focus while shooting in video mode?

I don't recall seeing the AF points dancing around in video mode like when in stills. If it was focusing like that I think the image would look bad like mini hunting. The a6000 in continuous autofocus has this micro adjusting thing in video and it kills the image if the camera is locked down like in an interview.

Thanks for your Answer Erik.

That would explain why I'm not seeing the PDAF squares.

Finally got my A6300 and took it to an event as a second body. Took about 40-50 raw photos and got the overheat warning, it happend 4 times total over 7 hours. I'm going to get a replacement, maybe it depends on the copy I got.

Wow. Keep us updated about the overheating in stills! :(

I got my A6300 last Friday. I have been moving, so I haven't really used it yet.

I tested it for 4k in a cool room at night, recoding a movie on the TV. It overheated in about 43 minutes, with a hard shutdown.

I haven't had a chance to test it for stills yet. I do about 2,000 still images- with 2 cameras- in 2+ hours at events. I guess I better test right away...

Thanks!

it's pretty serious problem with overheating A6300,I filmed at an event in 4k and camcorder in stem-bay i have overheating..this is not ok Sony
