Does the 7D feature a "focus assist" function?

Was just wondering if the 7D has a "focus assist" function when recording video? If so, is it like the focus assist seen on JVC's ProHD ENG cameras? (where the object in focus has a green/purple outline around it)...looks like this:

No. Before pressing record, it has a superb magnified focus assist, but once you press record there is no focus assist available.

If it's like the HV20 then it's basically a one click type of thing where it sort of digitally magnifies the object you want to focus on. Then you set the focus sharply where it needs to be. After that just press the start button and you're good.

Unfortunately the focus assist switches off the second you start recording. It's not an easy camera to focus if you're coming say from a Prosumer video camera.

You can use the autofocus button while recording though. It may mess up the video temporarily by changing exposure values and hunting for the focus, but it does autofocus in video mode.
