Does it work for P2 transfer: Old 1ghz Powerbook/10.3.9

I want to use my first gen 17" Powerbook (1ghz, 1gig memory) running 10.3.9 (Panther) to simply transfer P2 files onto a drive. It's got the nice big PCMCIA slot and I installed the Panasonic P2 driver.

I know that P2CMS won't run - it needs 10.4.10 - but wondering if anyone is using something like this running Panther to just transfer files. Hopefully the P2 card will mount and I'll drag the files over the desktop.

Good advice, trouble is I can't find Tiger anywhere except mail order and the shoot's tomorrow, anyone using Panther for P2 card copying?
