Can you elaborate on what a "stunt contained thriller" is? Curious. Thanks.
Sure - a contained thriller is a thriller that takes place in very few locations, often only one location. So movies like DESPERATE HOURS (family held hostage in a house by escaped convicts) or ROPE (killers have party in apartment with dead guy in trunk in living room) or LIFEBOAT where survivors are trapped on a lifeboat with the Nazi sub commander who sunk their ship) or WAIT UNTIL DARK (blind woman and bad guys in apartment)...
But sometimes the story is contained to the extreme - a "stunt" film (not stunt as in stuntman, stunt as in weird thing) - like PHONE BOOTH where the guy is stuck in a phone booth for the whole film or PANIC ROOM where they are stuck in the panic room for just about the whole film or BURIED where Ryan Reynolds in buried alive - and the whole film is him in a coffin.
For whatever reason, they seem to be buying these weird screenplays where one or two people are trapped in some small location. I think these are tough to pull off on screen, and, well, who wants to watch a man in a coffin for 90 minutes - there isn't much he can do!
