For some reason my native files look horrible upon playback using VLC or Adobe Premiere. There are weird artifacts, horrible interlacing, and weird flickers.

It only looks better after I've encoded the files into something else like flv.

Does anybody know if the problem is my GH2?

yeah it looks shite if you play with vlc and premiere native (if your comp is not up to it i think). the files themselves are fine, its just the player you are using. try splashlite, plays mts fine.

Convert the raw footage to an editing codec for use in Premiere.

It would assist if you could provide what version of Premiere on what platform.

My guess is that your GPU and CPU lack the performance to decode and display the native files properly.

I use Premiere CS5 on Windows 7 64bit. What codec do you suggest?

Thanks alot for everyone's help! Thanks for the heads up on Splashlite and Clipwrap. I'll definitely check those out as well :)

If you get choppy playback in Premiere, make sure you have set the playback resolution to "Full". You do this on the small dropdown menu in the upper right corner of the program monitor.
This fixed my issues with my GH1 files at least...
