Do you need 1000X CF cards for 1DC 4k?

My only question is why you would purchase cheap cards to put in your $10,000+ dslr.

If your car runs perfectly fine with regular, do you pay extra for high octane? Just asking if it would work. High profile brand name doesn't always justify paying more. Never had problem with ANY of the half dozen Transcend cards I've purchased.

Have you been shooting 4K on a Canon 1DC camera with those Transcend cards that you have never had a problem with?
Reminds me of the rental house that told me " those Transcend cards work great". Then when I put the Canon C300 in 720p 60fps it totally choked.

All depends on what your doing with the camera. 4K?, well, I would buy the cards they recommend.
And you run that car long enough on regular when the manufacturer recommends high octane and you have a big oldmechanic bill staring you in the face.

I have also only used, and never had a problem with Transcend and plan to buy the 1000x 128GB card. I'll report back once I pick it up (probably Thursday) and then we'll know.

I have the Sandisk 128g 1000x and the Komputer card with the same specs. I have been THOUROUGHLY testing the Komputer card at 4k for almost 2 months without a hiccup. The Sandisk was almost $700, Komputer card cost $125.
Not sure that I would use the Komputer card for paid work but it seems to work.

Purchased from Amazon about 3 months ago in anticipation of the 1DC.
prices have have gone up, I see

You need minimum 100MB/s write which should be 1000x, so that one won't work properly.

Hi,

Texasmediastystems lists a couple of approved cards on their site and they state 100MB/s or 1000x, just like you write.

The camera I've been using however, came with Sandisk 90MB/s cards and they have worked flawlessly without hiccup, including reaching the 4GB limit and splitting a long recording in two.

Conservative users or rental packages will want to stay above 100MB/s for sure, if that is the official line, but like I said on page one: 90MB/s works.

That said, Delkin's 67MB/s sounds too low to me. I would also treat all brands and specific ratings separately and go with a card that has proven itself to a number of users.

The Komputerbay card comes with one or two unfortunate stories, but there are plenty of users who have had no issues. That seems like an OK card to me. Buy it's rated well over 100MB/s of course.
