The EX1 Training DVDs say to use Delete All Clips rather than re-formating. However, I've run into a few technical glitches once in awhile in Deleting All Clips, so now I find myself doing more Re-Formating.
Other note: When shooting a movie (full length, 1080p), there is only 27mins per 8gb card, so I have a tech PA constantly rotating cards, off-loading to laptop, deleting clips and returning card to camera. That way we never have to wait for fresh recording material. So far we have nearly 500gb of data shot.
If you're a one-man-band, I suppose you have no choice but to wait... or buy lots of SxS cards.
