Do we also need to send a copy of the screenplay?

Noticed that Hollywood Screenwriter is offering a prize to the best ScreenPlay. Do we need to FTP a copy of our screenplay as well? Assuming a standard WORD file is ok?

Thanks,

Wow that's real short, I am sure the visual rock though! I think we probably have the most dialogue. I like making dialogue driven films. Breaks the short film trend a lot of times.

Same here Briceman...I've got a theater and writing background and dig the acting and dialogue as well. However, I'm looking foward to seeing all of the special efx.

Heh my special effect was trying to hold the camera steady on a pair of rollerblades that i ripped the shoe part off and taped together to make a table dolly.

Actually, my company Off Stage Films is offering up the brand new copy of "Hollywood Screenwriter" to the film with the best script. I love good scripts and thought it would be cool to support DVXUser and this contest.

Obviously, whatever Jarred wants to do is fine, but I would imagine he would not require the actual scripts. In this category the films would be judged on the quality of their stories.

Thanks for the response and to your company for your generosity. So basically the script format, printing, details, will not be a consideration?

Thanks,

It would be nice, as well as the usual BTS material, that you have the option of reading the screenplay of the submitted film. Perhaps something for the people to consider when submitting the BTS and AUDIO COMS?

Dialog editing is an art. I have a much better apreciation for it now. This project has the most dialog I have ever worked on, about six pages of it. I found that using wireless lavs helped to elimenate most of the room noise. Because we were filming in a factory with a lot of reverb.

I agree 'Darkfader'...writing the screenplay is near the tops for me as far as sheer movie creation enjoyment.

After spending a few years in management, preparing a few hundred business plans, and now as an aspiring director on a budget, I find my scrrenplay dramatic choices are often persuaded by the cost to shoot the scene too!

In my next film effort a little kid is involved in an accident...I wrote it the way I imagined it first, but then within the last few days, preparing the budget, etc...I've went with a similar but different dramatic choice that costs less to shoot and takes less time.

I was telling a friend the other day that I've finally found a creative activity that allows me to combine my writing, music, movie, business, and acting passions all in one.

Wish I had discovered all of this sooner.
