do scene settings affect colour if using 3.2k

hi i'm trying to get the settings right to match up my GH13 and HMC151 to work side by side.

I did some tests recently but didnt correctly white balance so thought i'd go again today.

I put the HMC151 on the infoor preset of 3.2k and dialed in the same value on the GH1 however the colour still looked drastically different.

I dont have an SD card reader where I am in order to check on the big screen but the colour in the viewfinders was so different (much cooler on the HMC151) that I can't put it down to the different viewfinder settings...

is there something in the scene file settings that would affect colour even if using the preset WB? I had the camera on SPARK as I've heard this is a nice one to use and I have knocked the sharpness and contrast down slightly on the GH1.

Thanks

Ok I should have waited, it was the viewfinder.., I wonder of there is a colour tint option for the viewfinder as well as brightness

HMC's LCD is notoriously cool and has no calibration options.

Hook up a decent LCD or even an HDMI TV to the cam, and scroll through settings within a scene file - gamma, knee, master ped - you will very quickly get an idea of how they affect things.

If you can't afford a production monitor with blue-only calibration, consider the Marshall 5" HDMI (sort of aimed at the DSLR market). It's small, but has monochrome and blue-only settings; output bars from the HMC & calibrate it and you'll get a pretty accurate color idea - at about $550 it's the least expensive solution I know of.

thanks very much guys. If only the GH1 supported a HDMI monitor I could justify the price to share between the two cams but I'll certainly go some research on the Marshall.
