those cats are shadier than an oak tree, i tried to buy a pd150 from them a few years ago and they messed it all up. jerks

If by "upfront" you mean telling the most outrageous fraudelent lies, then yes, I guess USA Photo is upfront. That story is a sorry example of the typical garbage at Brooklyn camera dealers. There is no DVX manufacturing in China and no such converter--it's all pure bull. No format? Did they also mention you need to pay another $1300 for "mojo"?

Interesting conversation from USA Photo

Camra for $1895?? Yes and no. They were up front and said that this is made in China and imported with no format. That you would need a $1500 converter to use it. I asked why they sell it. Answer: to places like CNN who buy one converter and mulitple cameras to use it with. Sounds fishy... but at least they were upfront.

How to take micro revenge when you get burned?

How to take micro revenge when you get burned?

How to take micro revenge when you get burned?

Search them on google and click their ad-sense link on the top of the results page - and dont buy anything (duh)..
they have to pay google for every click...

+ post the link here...

If enough people click it - maybe it will dent their advertising budget, and stop advertising in google, if we can save one gullible buyer... we can slowly save the world ... lol :)

I did that to eCost when they cheated me on my rebate...

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=ecost

click on the adsense text link on the top - and dont, repeat DONT buy anything...then it sort of negates the whole thing :)

I just went through all that too. I researched and researched with all the online stores and was about to purchase from Willoughbys.com only when I phoned in the order he pushed a 3year extended warranty. I told him I would like to take a second and think about it and I went to panasonic website found a local Panasonic dealer and they came close to the price and I purchased.

When I got my camera I found that the serial Number is on the outside of the box and if I were going to purchase online with a questionable reseller I would ask for the serial and call panasonic to confirm the serial number and include in the invoice transaction.

A dealer shouldn't push anything on you, and should only suggest gear if you ask for suggestions.

I think a dealer should know who's buying from them via some simple conversation. If the dealer understands that this is a noob, it would be beneificial for them to suggest some basic gear to get them going ... not push, but certainly not wait/hope that the noob will have the wits to even ask about anything else.

Sales is all about helping the client/customer to the best of your abilities, which in turn should help maximize company profits both in the immediate future profits with potential sales on the spot (only with what is of benefit to the buyer) as well as the referrals from a well taken care of buyer.

Now, as far as these crooks, I say do some serious investigation and find out where they live ...

I think we should always have postings that warn people about such scams... especially those who are new to purchasing over the internet...

Classic!

Yeah, for an extra $1950.00 I hear they offer an extended warranty which covers all* of the damages which the camera might sustain in the line of duty.

By reading this sentence you have agreed to this legally binding contract.

I actually ordered my DVX from Beach camera and got pretty darn lucky. That was before I even knew about grey market cameras.

beach camera is a great company. do photo business with them all the time. dont know if you were implying they grey market, but they do not sell grey market.

i noticed that all of these crooks in brooklyn are jewish swindlers with very jewish names. makes me think the stereotypes about my religion have some merit. very sad indeed.
