Do M4/3 to EOS convertors work on EF-S lenses?

I want to buy a M4/3 to EOS convertor, so I can use a friends Tokina 11-16 lens, but all the converters say they work on EF lenses, with no mention of EF-S lenses.

I'm fairly sure the EOS mount is the same between the EF and EF-S lenses, so it should work fine, right?

Any EF lens will fit on an EF-S mount, but not all EF-S lenses will fit on all EF mount cameras.

If you need EF-S compatibility, you'd better ask the manufacturer about it.

I'm going to go out on a limb and... not really disagree, but say something counter to Barry's post: my EF-S Tokina 11-16mm works fine on my GH1 with my m4/3 to EF adapter (from RJ Camera/Jin Finance). And I would guess that this would be the case with most other adapters of this type since the primary issue with mounting EF-S lenses on EF camera bodies is that the lens goes back far enough into the body to interfere with the mirror. But since m4/3 cameras (and lens adapters made for them) don't have mirrors, there's nothing for the back of the EF-S lens to hit.

But yeah, checking with the seller, as Barry suggests, would be the safest/best action - Mark

P.S. looks like neither RJ Camera nor ceico7 are currently selling m4/3 to EF adapters. So what's everyone buying nowadays?

I got a kipon eos - m4/3 adapter for my gh13. The kipon has an iris control built in with 'stops' from 1 - 6. Just about all my canon glass vignettes on it past 3rd stop, but otherwise it fits and works pretty well. I use regular nd filters plus a couple of lightcraft variND filters to control exposure.

Back to OP - the tokina 11-16mm works with the kipon, but my tamron 17-50mm doesn't. ???

mr bill...where and for how much did you pick up the kipon adapter? I've seen it on ebay for around $195.
Thanks

EF-S lens are _only_ made by Canon and no one else. The EF-S mount is _physically_ different, eg - you simply cannot mount an EF-S lens on 5Dm2 without taking a hacksaw to the lens.

Everyone else who makes a "cropped" lens still uses the EF mount, not the EF-S mount. Every Canon mount cropped/"reduced image circle" lens from Tamron, Tokina, Sigma etc, is EF mount. No one else has licensed the EF-S mount from Canon.
