do I need format new p2 card using first time

So I can't find the answer in search option

Do i need to format the new 16gb P2 card before using for the first time or just put in the HVX and go ?

If you insert the 16 GB card, and it reads the correction amount of footage for your settings it's good to go

But even so, why not take a couple of seconds and format it in any case.
