Do cheap rigs exist?

I recently ordered an UltraCompact and IndiocusMini from indisystems and had a hard time getting email responses. But Tim is pretty good about answering the phone, and was extremely helpful. He shipped within a week, and then followed up with the snap gears (which were backordered) a day later via FedEx overnight. Later, when I had a problem assembling the follow focus, he answered right away. And later still, when I had a problem with the back end of the rig not staying tight, he promptly sent out a whole new back end with multiple parts.

Tim seems like a very small shop, maybe even one person. I recommend he gets a customer service person to help him (even if it's part time) because people don't like to be left in the cold with questions even if he's working behind the scenes to fix issues/prepare the order. And perhaps he should put in some instructions in the box - you know, basic Business 101 stuff. But there's no denying he's trying hard, putting out great product for the price, and cares for his customers. I'm particularly happy with the FF unit which for my basic needs is well put together.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, Tim is a pleasure to talk to, very nice guy. My IndifocusMini should be here on Tuesday (hopefully with the snap gears). Tim spent extra on next day shipping on Thursday... But... Won't be here until Tuesday due to the holiday on Monday.

The only problem I have with indifocus is that despite its good customer service so much of Tim's stuff doesn't work properly enough in the first place so you have to call! The whole "it wouldn't tighten" or "it was missing a part" thing seems to be pretty commonplace.
