DMW-MA1 and Aperture?

On the Panasonic lens compatibility page -- am trying to confirm whether or not you can manually set aperture with lenses designated as "OK(*8)" in the AE Operation column. Am talking about when using CMM full manual setting.

Am assuming you would need a lens with an aperture ring when using CMM manual and a DMW-MA1, but not completely certain about that and hoping it's not the case. Anybody know for sure?
 
Yeah, the adapter allows communication with the camera and lens, so you set aperture via the front dial on the camera, just as you would if you were shooting full manual with the kit lens. A lot of the lenses listed are fly by wire design and don't have manual rings.
