DIY-Ram/memory install-Is it hard to do?

Memory is RAM.
And yes it's a very easy install.

Lots of information on how to do this on the 'net I'm sure.

Physically putting it into the computer is easy. The hard part is making sure that it is compatable with your set up. One good thing to do is read through the reviews at newegg.com for whatever RAM you are looking at.

Another good place for finding system compatible RAM is crucial.com. That place makes it very easy to find RAM that will work with your system at a good price.

Installing RAM is easy. Once you get the right one that is. There are so many versions out there. There is the SDRAM, DDR, DDR2 and others. Not so up to date. There are notches where the pins of the RAM are and you just line them up with the ridges on the RAM bay. If they don't fit when you try installing them both direction, then you got the wrong RAM chips. Hope that helped and hope I am talking about the same thing.

Comp needs more of both, should I install myself?

Yes and no.

If you do not know what type of RAM you need and how to insert in, then ask a friend who knows how.

Then again, by finding the type of motherboard you have, you will know what kind of RAM you need. After you receive the RAM, you can just opo them in according to their pin layout. Simple.

What's your system? I'm sure we can help you out here.

Just go to crucial.com as said earlier. Can't get any easier than that.

Their little things just walk you through it and show you what kind of RAM you can get.
