DIY IndieSlider...

The hybrid system would function better if you rotated the slider 90 Degrees to put the load on the wheels instead. Still I could see more noise coming from the new bearings. I might be selling my slider for the 10mm version btw.

Yes.. that's what I've been saying all along. The bearing was designed for heavy hanging doors. It really doesn't make sense for our purpose.

Why sell it, just make another, the price is right. I take it you have a small camera or DSLR?

I do have a 5d but it's loaded. Your setup can support a house man

Because it's loaded, you might want to look at the 80mm width in the 10mm rail...it will offer a bit more stability if you have long lenses, etc.
Just a thought...

Does the 225 include the rail?

That's for the pair of feet. I figured most people have already built their own slider (or have a glidetrack) and the feet make a great support solution & offer new flexibility to the slider.

That said.... I will be offering complete slider packages (in a couple weeks), tapped and ready to go for those who aren't the DIY type. I'll also be offering just lengths of rail and carriages, so you can have a short rail and long rail...just put the feet on the one you need for your shoot! Please keep an eye on the web site.

Hi, a quick question a month a go I place an order with igus UK (very strange they don't required any payment) Later I received an Acknowledgement email in the tittle, and some text ending: "and we will process your order as quickly as we can, you will hear from us shortly."

the next week I went on Holiday Today my surprise, Today my neighbour knock my door with a packet coming From Igus the deliverery company left with him.

What is this ? I received something before Paying? or igus made a Mistake?
Cheers

You either pay then when you made the order or pay later when you receive it. It's not a mistake, they do mention it to you when you called in.

Yes... this is an industrial company and are used to working with PO's (purchase orders) from companies. You will receive a bill...and should be offered a little discount for payment within 10 days!

The thing that really worry me is how much Postage the will charge or if they will charge any UK TAX on top,

this was very strange I was expecting at least a call before receiving anything

I'd call them if you are worried, just to make sure, and to find out if there will be any delay. The people in the US were VERY nice.

The last order I made ask me if I want to pay now or later when I receive the product. I paid in full when ordered and received the products last Thursday but nothing on my CC yet.

If you want to pay by CC, just call them in and give them your info. BTW, they don't save CC infos onto the account.

Without having weed through the entire 50+ pages can you update the first post with the rail size recommendations for the different applications. I'm going to mount a 150 to it though eventually there may be something full size like a 300 on it.

16-60mm is the recommendation for your 150 and will probably work fine with a 300.

10-40mm and 10-80mm is good for DSLR's and smaller cameras.

20-80mm is for really heavy, big rigs (and may still be overkill).

I'll be updating the first post, but most current info will always be at www.zazaslider.com

Hello All,

For those of you interested in what Zaza created... I can tell you first hand the product is excellent! Superfast delivery and great communication. As for someone who likes to build stuff rather buy it, this is worth the investment.. Solid Construction, extremely versatile.

I posted a few pics of my set up. Im gearing up to shoot a feature Starting this Spring and I don't think I'll be able to live without this.. Of course this pics are taken with the Camera that is supposed to be Mounted on my Rig :)

My Pictures may be a bit too big :)

I actually ordered the rail at "1300" length, which is just over 4 feet..

I was tossing around the idea of ordering a 1500mm-1800mm 16-60 with a 100mm carriage for my 150 (and maybe a 300 later). Wondering if I mount the rubber ends (or zaza feet) to it if I will get bending at the ends. I am aware of the tripod wanting to give way to one side so I'll sandbag it and would probably tap it for monopods which I have plenty of but don't want to have to use them all the time if I don't have to.

Anyone know the answer to this on a 1500-1800 mm rail center mounted with an hmc150 load?

Edit*

Just checked out those zaza feet, man they are sweet looking!

I can tell you I'm 99.9% sure you don't have to worry about the rail flexing, even at 1500mm... the 16-60mm is TOUGH stuff! Be sure to sandbag good though and use a solid tripod.

Oh... and get the feet... you'll love them!
