bahaha still can't believe those glidetrack guys are actually trying to sell those... what a rip!
just get exactly what Zaza says in the first post. It will work great with your Fx1 and you'll have your very own "glidetrack"
We also adapt our Igus system to light stands using TVMP adapters instead of tripod 3/8" thread mounts, which adds a lot more flexibility, but about $24 per mounting point.

This makes me quite angry. This guy appears to have just taken the zaza slider idea and stuck a price badge and a funky name on it....
Humph.

Relax. Alastair has been selling his Glidetrack since June of 2008.

I'm loving this thread and am about to do something with it, I can't wait to get started on this. But maybe someone could enlighten me on something here ...
Is there any reason why you can't attach the track to the your tripod's camera mounting plate? This would keep the center of gravity way down and you wouldn't have to tear apart your tripod's head.
Then, you could pick up a low profile mount for your camera to slip into (like this one), bolt it onto the carriage and your good to go!
Thanks for the help!
Where I think it would be REALLY handy is if you attached an "L" bracket to the bottom of track making it vertical ... then the crank would be extremely useful ...
Nice!I have a crane for those shots.![]()
