DIY IndieSlider...

would it be worth it to mount a pull/push handle bar to the shuttle for a two manned operation. One person to push/pull the shuttle while the other controls the tripod head. This will probably require a longer shuttle. I'm a noob so don't even know if this would be advantageous.

oh yeah, can one connect tracks together. I"m thinking about getting a couple of various lengths.

I don't see how you could attached 2 different pieces of track together...so no, I don't think this is possible.

Well, I didn't build mine, I bought it from the T-jib people at NAB this year.

They use the exact same materials for theirs.

It is the 48" version. Here is a clip from the first time I used it.

Vimeo link.

Note, I did a FCPro stabilization on it, added a slight blurred vignette and a slight gamma curve to the footage.

DEFINITELY use the cheap-ass manfrotto monopods for your outrig support.

At our local Igus-shop they only sell the WS-10, WS-20 and WW-10 and WW-20.
Do you reckon they would work as a dolly as well?

Well another user bought the 20mm and thought that was too heavy-duty. I think the 10mm would work, but might flex. I'd still suggest you call igus directly and order the parts I listed, as I know those work. They will sell directly to anyone and are most helpful. Give them a call or visit the web site.
Good luck.

Thanks. I called them and apperantly they do have the 16, it just wasnt on the pricelist.

If there's anyone here from the Netherlands: go to www.igus.nl, and you'll find a link to their official dealer: www.elcee.nl

Do you think the 10 would work? Assuming it's only being used with a DVX-100?

I like the size of it, as well as the price, and if supporting the track is the only concern, I think with maybe two stands it should be able to take the weight.

Can't say for sure...even with 2 stands, one on each end, you might get flex in the middle?? That's what I'd be concerned about. The whole reason I went with the 16mm, was you could use one stand, screw it on & shoot. There's NO flex the whole 36" of track. (and keep in mind, the other 'PRO' versions that use this same stuff, use the 16mm set-up).

Hope that helps.

The friend of mine just concact the nearest representative ( in Croatia / Europe )..

and they want 207€ for those two parts.. two to three weeks shipping..

It is the robberry !!!!!

:kali:

That's odd because this stuff is made in Germany??? For once something is cheaper in the US. :)

ORIGINALLY PUT THIS IN THE WRONG THREAD! SORRY.

I purchased the same stuff as specified at the beginning of this thread. About $160.00 total, delivered. It is not "the robbery!"

It turned out pretty nice. Still have to take it out to get some footy though.

NOTICE that my 503 head sits directly on the carriage and the 75 mm half ball fits directly in the bowl AS USUAL.

Thanks Zazacast!

And they wanted 207€ whitch is $284.00..

Clear??

You wouldn't call that robbery?

I was joking-- In other words, I didn't get robbed! I understand how someone might get robbed, but the US distributor is in Rhode Island--not on the other side of the world--and they got it to me in 3 business days.
