Oh the work is great, but please get me away from that song, totally not my type of music, Its crazy, but i didn't think anyone could like that weird stuff. Hehe, i used to be in the techno style but nothing llike that!!!

I like it. Several cool effects, smiley face, levetation, etc. mixed into the video. And, I liked the music.

skettalee - believe it or not - this is my 1st proper finished project on Final cut pro. I am a music producer first & I started mucking around with fcp about 6/7 months ago - before that I was using imovie & I never ever finished anything on fcp untill now.This was an opportunity to really throw myself at final cut pro because of my single being released. I picked up everything I know by scanning all the dv forums for info on what i needed to know then - it just built up from there.

Its all out there for whatever software you are using.
I did shoot a web corp IT presentaion a few months back - even though I didn't edit it fully ( that job was for the web designer on the project) It got me into after effects for about a month due to experimenting with the keying out plugin - which after I started using AE for about 70 % of all my motion fx - its just so damn powerful.
AE was the back bone to most of the effects you see in the vid coupled with fcp for basic transitions etc.

I guess if you keep experimenting & know what you like - you just get better & funkier with the mouse 8)

Just wanted tell the world - that "Dirty Raver" has finally got the go ahead for MTV - it will be aired over the next few weeks & im pretty damn happy - since its my first music video.

Cheers for all the feedback on this project - im going to finally move on to my next project " Dirty Raver vol:2 " :D watch this space!

well its premier is airing at 19:55 thursday 22nd april mtv dance - im based in London - so I guess its a europeon thing only - not sure ?.
It will be airing on mtv bass & other respective mtv ch's thru out the next few weeks also.

This is all good stuff - it has more than exceeded my expectations 10 fold :o ;D One min Im trying learn final cut pro & the next - MTV along with various other music ch's are playing a video of mine.
I will attempt a short film entitled "tea" in the next few months - then a vol.2 of Dirty Raver hopefully.Look for a new site coming very soon.

will be buying some new bits for the dvx - tripod - fisheye etc - so hopefully the cinematograhy will more moved on

I have only checked out the century optics fisheye lenses - I like the ultra but maybe you know of others ?
Is the century cool 8) ?

also if any of you guys live near here : http://www.shootandslice.com/screenings_june2004.htm it is being screened - so you can check it on the big screen ;D
I am thinking of expanding the followup to dirty raver in the form of a short 10 min film rather than just another single.
Will update as soon I finish writing a script - which has started on the back of red letters for unpaid parking tickets :-*

VERY creative work enjoyed the post production details! First clip I have actually been intrested enough to sit through and show others!

How do you acheive the JerryBruckheimer effect besides a plugin.

the hovering effect is easy...have your subject keep jumping in place, moving forward a few inches at a time, then edit out the frames of the jump and the landing, leaving you with the frames of them in the air. together they will make the subject 'hover' or 'float'.

Both the Dirty Raver vid and the corporate thingie are well done and full of energy. The editing is cool. The music background is a huge help there. The music is very cool in both clips.
I think you could actually have been more aggressive with wholesale post processing. Some more stylized look applied to the whole thing that could pull things together a tad and look less video-y...
I think you are on the right track as far as playing to the strengths of the DVX and of video.

I think I answered this somewhere before either on this thread or someonelses - I still don't know what the jerry bruck look effect is - other than the color effect  - which I most definitely used plugins for ie: 3 way cc & after effects etc - I pretty much shoot neutral - so I have more to play with in post.

Cheers - the record label got it transferred at a standard post house - just a standard mini dv to digibeta transfer - which mtv requested.

I am a music producer editor first & have been using audio software since the early 90's - pro tools & logic have been my main tools since the late 90's & I guess when it came to editing images to the beat - it just came easy & very naturally actualy. I like to use images in a rhythmic way to create energy. This is pretty much my first ever project with video apart from a few short films I made whilst learning all the editing software.
I think I edit very similar to how I put together a track in pro tools.

If you are talking about the red com project - this is totally my 2nd ever project & also my 1st ever job for somebody in the film/editing world.
I don't want to come across as a fluke here - I did actualy explore & learn  film & cinematography at a drama performing arts college for 3 years before music changed my career path for a decade.

I would love you to clarify " wholesale post processing " & also the bit about being less " video-y " I did shoot in 25p & try to give my projects a more filmic look when possible - but please expand on this - so I can learn more from your citique :)

Thanks for the feedback - I would love some more proper feedback on my red com corp film project - as this has been the latest thing I have done.
