Dirty lens or damaged light sensor?

Hi

When i look through my viewfinder (or LCD) I see many small little dots of a whitish/grey colour on my screen, especially when pointing at areas of more light. I see the same when watching the footage afterwards. At first i thought my lens is dirty but I've cleaned it and it appears to be very clean. Someone told me my light sensor could be damaged because I have admittedly pointed the lens at strong light sources before, like the sun. Has anyone experienced this and what should i do? I can't go on filming like this and I'm very worried!

From the footage it looks like my lens has got dirty particles on, but it doesn't!

Light travels through all parts of a lens (limited by the lens iris of course), therefore you do not see particle type artifacts due to a dirty lens.

Something in your camera is damaged. You'll need to send it to a service center for repair.

I had this same problem with my cam. How many dead pixels are there? From what I read out there (and in my case) its probably sensor dust.

My fix (and I'm serious) was I held the cam with the lens pointing away from body and spun in a circle fast. The centrifugal force must have moved the dust off the sensor because it fixed it. I've done that several time to fix pixel dust. Haha, I know it sound retarded, but if its dust it might work.
