I glued together a few scenes from a range of different productions, all of which are extremely low budget.
All scenes directed, produced, FX'd and edited by yours truly.

All audio with the exception of intro and final scene music created/recorded and mixed by me.

GH-1 was utilized in two of the winter scenes. For the woodland and airstrike scene, HDR-FX1E.

Ya, that was sweet. I noticed the Stargate at the end, are you working out of Vancouver? The warthog jet was my favorite part.

Bad tactics in some of those.

I really hate it when characters just run out in the open in the middle of a firefight for no reason whatsoever. You have these guys against a wall, basically sitting duck targets, after it's already established that everyone and their mother is shooting.

Real soldiers don't do that.

If real bullets are whizzing by, you stay behind cover.

The only reason you would run out in the open is if something even worse is forcing you that way (such as a tank).

I see bad tactics and direction a lot, even in big budget films (ever seen Commando?). It's so easy to avoid.

Thank you :)

Nope, I have a "fanfilm" in the works, which is where those scenes are from.

@polfilmblog; portraying proper tactics is much harder than you'd imagine on film.

I'm well versed in small unit infantry tactics, and yet rather large sacrifices must often be made during filming. It is very hard to make common infantry meanouvers look interesting on film.

All of those scenes are out of context, due to the way I cut it together, so it is natural that most of the tactics don't make sense, especially the soldier running out into the open while being fired upon.

Commando is kind of an extreme case, I should hope my work doesn't come off as untactical as that..

All I can say is that was f'in sweet!!! My little brother walked into the room during the reel and he got excited to find out what movie trailer I was watching. Two Thumbs way up!

Sent you a PM, would really really like your help in creating some VFX in a film I'm doing. If you're able, let me know and we can talk about compensation and such.
