DIRECT IMPUT P2 to Powerbook G4

So I was able to install the firmware on my computer and get the
P2 card to come up on my laptop.
But now I go to the folder labeled video and the files were .MXF files.
So,, how do I get them clips in and ready to edit???

you need final cut pro to do that, version 5.0.2 or newer. in version 5 you go file>import>panasonic p2. in version 6 you go file>log & transfer. you should also download and install the p2 content management system.

sounds like you have a lot of reading to do and i'd start with every sticky'd topic in the hvx forum.

You don't really want to be using anything before V5.1.4, those versions all have various serious issues.

And Casey, make sure you save EVERYTHING that's on those cards, don't just copy the files in the VIDEO folder. Panasonic has a PDF that explains the workflow on the HVX resource page.

Also check out Raylight. It makes life so much easier when working with P2 and FInal Cut Pro.
