C100: Difficulty in removing and attaching top handle cable. Am I the only one?

I seem to have the hardest time attaching and detaching the cable for the top handle on my C100.
It's really difficult to turn and takes a good 5 mins either way.

Am I the only one with this issue?
 
You don't turn it, it should just push into a locking place when it the pins are aligned. To remove you need to first pull back the outer casing then apply pressure to remove the connection. It's strange at first but simple once you get it.
 
I've always been really worried about those little pins. Nobody ever had any issues with those bending due to some hasty insertions?

As soon as I got it. It's been working fine, I was just under the impression that it screwed on because the manual doesn't really go into detail on how to attach the cable to the camera.
