Difference between the 170 and 200a?

Two different cameras. Different feature sets. Same CCDs and similar, yet different look.

biggest difference is tha 200a has a tape deck, hence the shorter warranty.

And then there is SDI out, a locking six pin FW cable, and a number of other features only in the 170

if your not going to use tape,it is a no brainer ,the hpx170 is the way to go , long list of upgrades and 1.2 lbs lighter,5 year warrentty. .

ok thnx guys! Was wondering cause it´s more expensive to so.... i guess it could be nice to be able to use tape but on the other hand maby that makes the camera heavier, bigger and less solid?
And i read alot about a ntsc - pal switchable 170, is that on the market yet?

The European version is switchable, but it's also significantly more expensive. There will be an upgrade option for the US version to add PAL switchability but they haven't started that program yet.
