Did you see Videography today?

Videography magazine came today and they have two intresting pieces about the HVX.

The first is a feature article, "Are We Looking at a Tapeless HD Future?" It is a good article, though it doesn't really add to what has been posted here, though it does have some killer pix.

The second piece, in the Industry News section, really caught my attention. It seems that Birns & Sawyer has already placed an order for 25, that't right, TWENTY-FIVE, HVXs. Per their COO, Steve Tobenkin,"We plan to present the camera aggessively to directors of photography who do mid-range and higher-end work and educate them about the improvements in their editorial workflow that the camera affords..."

Very cool. The articles are not on the website yet. However, if you've never been to their website, shame on you.

The magazine is availble as a free subscription.

(sorry to the experienced members of this forum, the last part was for the newbies)

Got my first Arriflex from Pete Anway at B&S - that fellow really knows his stuff. I think he's the decision maker now for HD over there and it is good to have a film heritage person filling that role!

25 hvx's................that's a lot of P2

That's right, and I guess that answers the question about being able to rent P2 cards.

Can you imagine the scene at B&S when the UPS man totes 25 HVXs through the door? Their will be film geek woodies as far as the eye can see!!!!

Yea, I was psyched to see the HVX featured in so many magazines recently. Can't wait to see production models though!

..you have to realize, with the buzz on this camera all of the reseller's are going to sell out of an intial order of 25 pieces almost immediately. And frequently, you may not receive that entire inital order at one time. This is why we have people calling and placing their names on our pre-order list...making sure they are the first in line for the option to buy

(BTW-25 pieces is a standard size order-be it for HVX's, Z1U's or DVX's)
