So I'm in the midst of color correction on a feature shot in 720p24N with the HVX. We're doing the correction on "Scratch" at a buddy of mine's FX house. He's doing it as a favor, but I think we may have screwed up our process. Some help would be great.
His system wanted to work in DPX or Cineon files, so we outputted a TIFF image sequence from FCP and gave it to him. The TIFFs were converted to DPXs and that's the image sequences we've been doing our color grading on in Scratch.
Now I need to burn some screeners for some festivals. He can't output a DVCproHD quicktime from Scratch, but he can output a TIFF sequence. Can I just have him output a Tiff sequence and then I put that Tiff sequence back in FCP and it should work fine and I can encode and mpeg-2 from FCP with compressor? What sequence settings should I use? Did we lose anything going from DVCproHD to a TIFF sequence in the first place? Should we have not done that?
Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Brian
