hello..i am trying to buy a 7' monitor for my gh3. my budget is under or equal $200.
i have found some options, lillipt, aputure, neway.
For some money more or less can get diffent features , so i want to ask how importantae they
1) focus peaking. is it really good and worthy this function in these monitors?
2)resolution...800x480 most of them, some 1280x800. What is the difference in having different resolution, is it worthy pay more for more resolution working with gh3?(i sk as i see some very well considered monitor having 800x480)
Thanks

I'm very pleased with my Lilliput 663/o/p 7-Inch 1280x800 IPS. Paid around 250 USD for it, I compared a lot of monitors but didn't find anything under 200 that suited my needs.

800x480 is okay but having 720p does make a difference, after all most smartphones have HD screens and it makes a difference even at small sizes like 7". x480 isn't bad, but a lot of factors play in (as we all know) when it comes to screen quality, for example the Sony 7" looks fantastic but a cheap chinese panel doesn't look anywhere near as good as the Sony.

The focus peaking works great, since GH3 lacks it its one of the reasons I wanted a monitor with it.

Focus peaking in general can be a very useful feature, but it depends on how well it is implemented in the software and hardware of the particular monitor you are considering. Some do it better than others.
The resolution of the monitor will impact the overall image quality and also aid in focusing as with a higher resolution monitor the image will be sharper.
The GH3 can output 1080 so even with a 1280 X800 monitor the image needs to be scaled down but not as much as with a 800 X480 monitor.
But theoretically a 1280 X 800 monitor will always be sharper than a 800 X 480 monitor given the same monitor size.

yes i suppose quality impact a lot on the way focus peaking works
i am considerng Lilliput, or Neay monitor, the second cheaper for similar features(120x80 and focus peaking) than lilliput
