TRAILER ADDED! 02/28/2010

Amidst delusions of saving failed U.S. banks and car
companies, an aging homeless man reconnects with
a long-lost sweetheart via Facebook in this quirky
tragicomedy. Very loosely inspired by Augustus
Baldwin Longstreet's 1833 short story "The Dance"
and updated for 21st century recession-era Austin
.

SPECIAL THANKS TO
AUSTIN FILM MEET
who assisted greatly in organizing this production

(I'm sure there are bad links, typos, etc., in the above. Just dashing this off before I have to dash out. Will fix mañana.)

Congrats Jack & Barry! I'm looking forward to seeing the trailer and actually the short, I'll be there with family and friends in March.

Congratulations, Jack! Looks great!

Finally!!! A film that gives blue jean shorts the respect (and spotlight) they deserve.

(I hate this word but it works in certain situations...and this is one of them)

AWESOME!

Congratulations Jack, Barry and everyone involved.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I honestly had to google SXSW...

The South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Conference and Festival is thrilled to announce over 80 Film Conference panels and 130
short films for the 2010 event, which will take place Friday, March 12 – Saturday, March 20, 2010 in Austin, Texas.

New major panelists added to the SXSW Film Conference include Michel Gondry (filmmaker, The Thorn in the Heart, ),
Quentin Tarantino (filmmaker, Inglorious Basterds), David Gordon Green (filmmaker, Eastbound & Down, ),
Peter Becker (President, Criterion Collection), David Wohl (Radical Publishing) and Susan Bradley (Pixar).
Other upgrades to the 2010 Conference include more workshop sessions, more mentor sessions, and over 20 Crossover Panels
(open to both Film and Interactive registrants).

Yikes. Some stiff competition there but you always seem to come out on top.
Wish I could see it but best wishes and kick some a##.

-Gord.

Congratulations, JDS! A worthy project. I'm excited for your acceptance. I hope it does well!

Thanks all. Out at "Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night". A favorite local pastime here in Austin at the moment.

@ Gord: LOL, SXSW started as a music festival, now it is a pretty much all media. As a film fetsival it's on pretty much all U.S. top ten lists somewhere after Sundance and before Tribeca (hence it's placement in my signature.) and on sone international top ten lists as well.

SXSW is one of the biggest and most prominent fests in the world. It's recently been accredited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences as one of the festivals that, if your short film wins, it's then eligible for nomination at the Oscars.

And for those who haven't even asked yet, yes, this is one of the projects we shot on the GH1.

Lot's of talk about it this year from studio execs, producers and directors (big guys will be there but most are short). Not that I know anything about hollywood or them but they are big on new talent and like Austin (for some crazy reason) this year.

I'm excited! I'm going to go streaking so someone will hear about it when they are bailing me out of jail, then it'll be on the news then you and JDS get a deal and a really bad youtube viral video. :Drogar-Shock(DBG):
