Was that $3049 before or after the current $250 rebate from Canon?

Thanks,
Jay

$3049 would be after the rebate. Actually it will come out to $3076 with shipping. Still a great deal.

I have also now received my A1 from Onecall. It arrived yesterday morning with all the proper accessories. My shopping experience with them was quick and painless, definately a good place for gear in my book.

And by the way, the A1 is nothing short of incredible. Much, much, better than I'd expected it to be. I shot some footage and saw it for the first time on a 42" Panasonic TH-42PHD8UK plasma HDTV, through the component, and uhm, it's jaw dropping. Right out of the box. And much moreso with some of the better Custom Presets loaded up. And here's what's scary: I was shooting with a UV filter on, and this set is only 1024x768. A 1920x1080 set would look... I can't imagine.

I haven't actually recorded any A1 footage yet, but I did shoot and playback some 24p footage from my new HV20 on my cheap 24" 1024x768 res HD monitor, and it looked really good. I can't wait to shoot with the mothership (A1) and actually watch it on a true 1080p monitor.

Now if I could only travel back in time six years ago, when I made my first real attempt at a film on a $999.99 Sony Digital8 cam, and instead shoot with the A1 and HV20.
