this is our first demo reel! i would LOVE to hear any kind of criticism from you guys, as i respect the opinions of the members of this board!

i've only got a vimeo up right now, but should have a high-resolution up soon!

thank you!

Looked really good! A nice blend of different projects.
Music fit well with the piece. You have some really nice footage!

This is awesome footage you have right there! I especially liked the scenes on the corn field. Is this all HVX 200?

Any color correcting in post?

I mean, you didn't use an adapter?

That's astonishing. It looks so well. Silky smooth bokeh, lots of shallow DOF.

I guess the fact that you achieved a film look with no adapter is, well, a result of your own expertise.

Good job man, well done.

first of all, thanks a lot guys. all of the kind words really mean a lot to us!

80% of the footage is highly color corrected and i think that's what makes it look A LOT more filmic. a good colorist can really set a mood. the sky was very blue in the shots with the people wearing gas masks, but in the reel the skies are a murky brown to really fit the mood.

daniel, i'm not sure how to answer your question just because i hardly am aware of my settings when i'm filming something. i know i hardly have ever shot something with an open iris. i usually just set my shot up and then play around with everything until it looks what i think looks good to me in the lcd. for the close up shots with the nice DOF i usually am zoomed in all the way.

thanks!

Was great, alot of really nice shots!!
To make it even better:
I think you have the best footage after 37 seconds. I really liked it, but the first 37 seconds it was not so many nice clips (if i compare to the really nice after 37 second). Can't you make it shorter. I like the guy with the sutiecase in the beginning.
