My first DVX100 footage.

Hello;
I am posting my first DVX100 footage, called 'Just Another Afternoon'.
http://webhome.look.ca/~nringhei/html/afternoon.html

It is an action/comedy....with the intentional feel of a home movie in the very beginning -then it changes ;-)

There are numerous mistakes I can see I've made, but I'm interested in receiving feedback regarding content, cuts, pace, etc. -mainly because I can't do anything at this point about the other issues:
Let me explain: Regarding light & long shadows- We had one full afternoon of sun, then schedules changed to an approx hour (for a couple days) before the sun set. Then to our aghast...it snowed, so we can't even finish it, or try to reshoot continuity problems.

I hope someone will enjoy it despite the problems.....Lyn

I enjoyed it, it was funny. I assume that you did not CC to maintain the "home movie" look. :)

Dude, that was a crack up. Nice job.
Thank you, that is encouraging to hear for a beginner.
We were aiming for 'cartoon violence''.
We were unsure if the 'context' could be enjoyed regardless of the technical problems .

haha, this was incredibly fun to watch. I absolutely love when the younger guy throws the sponge at him and he spits out the water.

That was one of the most bizarre things I have seen on this site. That is a compliment. Totally different, strange, and funny. The audio, cuts, and acting was weird. You may be the only person on this site to turn the dvx to 60i. Fun to watch.
BTW - Devo was a new wave band from the 80's. They made weird avant garde videos and wore funny hats. Whip it good and keep it up....

this is hilarious! This reminds me of the videos my friends & myself made back in the late 80's/early 90's w/ our VHS/Video8 cameras!

Nice job picking up on a lost generation of video making!

Wow. Thank you for the encouragement, AND the informative feedback with wonderful 'adjectives' -we love bizarre, different, strange, funny and weird.

ThnX Ken. We only made it for ourselves, and had a blast. As long as it can stay fun, creativity can thrive. But we need a few years of learned technical experience under-our-belts.
