deleted magic lantern off sd card... t2i won't power on

any ideas, I'm at a shoot.... this is not good. I was in a crunch and was having issues with it so i wanted to use the canon firmware, and that was apparently the wrong idea.

The sd card is still set as bootable, so your t2i is probably hanging while looking for an executable file.

Pull the battery and insert another sd card that is not bootable.

The next time you want to remove magic lantern, just reformat the card from within your t2i and you will avoid this altogether.

Hope this helps.

Anyone is invited to correct me if I am wrong about any of this.
Yep

Someone didnt rtfm.

no, I read it.. but I didn't have it in front of me.. and it was crunch time. I honestly forgot what the process was for doing it, so I had to use my best judgement.. I had no pc available to look anything up on.

luckily I got the idea to format the card in my H4N, and then the camera was able to boot up with it, and then i formatted it again from the camera just to be sure.

I understand that, but I recall it being all over the instructions when you install it... something like "DO NOT RUN A CARD LEFT BOOTABLE IN YOUR CAMERA WITHOUT ML ON IT! Your camera will hang in an endless loop that could damage or battery, blah blah blah..." I recall it being one of the big warnings posted. Whenever you perform a hack or mod, you should read the warnings first. Its just as important as not skipping a step!

Meanwhile, not that it matters, but while you say you couldn't get to a computer to look this up on, you managed to get to a computer in order to post this, so... ;)

I am having a same kinda problem. I formatted my SD card from my camera, and even that SD card isn't bootable anymore. I did that with EOScard. everything works well. but if I put a new SD card, my T2i does not BOOT. Please help.

Not following your explanation here... too much use of the word "boot".
You formatted the camera in card, which removes the "boot" flag that ML requires (and makes your camera look for the additional code on the card). Without that flag set using EOScard (or similar), the card will look and work to the camera as a regular storage card, as if ML weren't there. If the card were set as "boot", but no ML system files exist on the card, the camera gets stuck in an endless loop looking for the custom OS and not finding anything.

So, I'm not sure what you are saying is happening here- is ML not starting up unless the card is bootable (which is the expected behavior)? Or is your camera not turning on anymore?
If your camera is not starting up, the choices are 1) Your card is set as bootable but does not have ML properly installed on it, setting your camera into an infinite loop 2) your battery is dead 3) you left something plugged into the external monitor jack 3) you broke something.
