Deciding-- opinions/expertise, please...

Okay... here is the deal.

I am shooting a very low budget feature documentary, heavy on the interviews and archive footage. I'm considering switching from my current basic HVX200a to a Canon 7D...

If I accompany the 7D with the following, what more do I need to have it match up to the HVX-- (leaving out additional lenses...)

Canon 7D with:
--BeachTek DXA-XLR audio adapter - with a number of Seinnheiser mics (Shotgun and Lav.)
DXA5Da1_MED.jpg

Also-- how much trouble will I have importing the footage from the 7D into FCP? Not that importing from an HVX is a picnic, but at least I'm used to it...

Any and all help would be appreciated... I change my mind every day...

Keep in mind the rolling shutter problem that you get with this camera. If your subjects are mostly static stuff, and talking heads and similar then this wont be a problem for you. The other thing to keep in mind is focus, with the 7d you cannot rely on the auto focus to look good if you need rack focus during a shot.

hope this helps
