[WTB] Decent Teleprompter

what do you consider "decent"?
there are a number of cool and low cost ways to go about a prompter.

I guess decent to me is something that you wouldn't get off of ebay or cheapteleprompters.com. I was toying going the ipad route, but I need to have scroll control and I don't always shoot where there is wifi to use my iphone as a controller.

I used the pro-prompter a few times, but we abandoned it for our old one. The software you use via the ipod is pretty terrible, and I really hate not being able to angle the mirror to compensate for the heights of different presenters.

That being said, its fairly cheap and works very well for that price...

Hey

I am currently using a Ipad as the Teleprompter using the i-Prompter Pro software. I've recently purchased a wired controller before the price goes up in August so I am waiting for it to arrive. Their website states I should be able to increase and decrease the speed of the text. Here is their website which has more information http://www.i-prompter.com/.

Issues with ipad prompters:
1. Making edits on the fly means you have to remove the ipad, make the revisions, replace the ipad, connect to the iphone. It can be a pain
2. There is a lag with the iphone and ipad. It can make it difficult to track with the client
3. Font size versus number of lines on screen.. you can use a large font but then you have only one line of text at a time. Small font, and you have to use a tight shot.

Pros:
Super light, and portable
Ipad prompters, like the LCD4video is a good but cheap sled mount

I will eventually offer an ipad version through my http://www.tomtper.com site.. but it is a difficult thing to operate.

I recently contacted i-Prompter about their software control which I brought. I was told while on the phone that they are soon to be releasing a new app which will be called i-Prompt Live. Here you can control the iPad from any other apple device and can also load scripts using the wireless. They also have a web interface which you will be able to use to upload scripts and send them to your device. They tell me this should also work with mobile devices in terms of sending scripts to the iPad through the web.
