Dear LoveFest: I Had The Time of My Life

hi everyone, I wanted to express my sincere gratitude to all the filmmakers who put a piece of themselves out there for the world to judge. you are all very brave and balls-to-the-wall FILMMAKERS in my book and I wanted to thank you, sincerely, because this was my first DVXfest and frankly, "I had the time of my life" (wink, wink... there's a joke coming!). anyway, i hope you did too.

with that, here's my hastily assembled tribute to all of you...

In case nobody picks up on it... it would pay to really try and watch all the flicks... I just saw some amazing shots that I haven't seen yet... I guess I'll do the zip downloads and make a day of it.

I can't remember what fest it was a while back... one of the horror ones... maybe even zombie fest... and anyway... there was this one entry where people were surprised by zombies... they freaked out and started running, but then you saw that the zombies moved really slow (like zombies do) and then the girl was instantly calm and taking calls inside of her car and then just casually drives away... so the zombies all look down at their crappy shoes... then the next scene is the zombies running people down like athletes... and they all have on adidas or something.

I nearly wizzed up my trousers laughing so hard at it...

That short little flick got almost no attention at all... it fell victim to the "thread count conundrum" which is why I think that REALLY... we should do "anonymous fest"... or at least don't allow any promotion or threads about the flicks... I mean ZERO.

I'd love to see entries with titles only... so that people don't even know who did what until after the vote.

Anyway... that was a nice tribute... I just saw some clips that have forced me to commit to watching all the flicks. While we all SAY that we will... or intend to... I don't think more then about 10-20% of us actually watch more then 20% of the entries.

Hey I'm just sayin'... don't kill the messenger.

Friggin' brilliant.

It was cool to reminisce over each clip like that. Some of my favorite shorts were unexpected favorites for me given some of my first impressions with the thread or opening viewing minutes or whatever. Awesome tribute. Awesome fest.

Um did I GIVE you permission to use my film?

Totally kidding. This was awesome. It was so fun to watch, THANKS for putting THIS together

thanks Zak. Awesome.

I am not sure what I saw at the end though....

that is a little "gotcha!" for the double date crew. who probably thought they were left out until that point. you can tell by my new avatar, that im a big fan of that scene.
