Update 10 September 2010

Script is written. Still needs to be hammered a bit, but almost there.

Searching for actors, got some crew, need more. Got some locations, one TBC, should be set early next week.
Still no title.
Looking for composer.

Update 13 September 2010

Casting and locations this week. Spent yesterday going through cast CV's and location scouting.

Calls today.

Update 15 September 2010

Ive seen some people who could fill the roles. I have more coming. Title coming soon also.

Update 16 September 2010

More casting, more script revisions. We have at last a title (thank you - you know who).

Update 22 September 2010

Casting is over. Final cast will be put up in next few days.

Chris and I have finished the script!! Chris really brought a unique flavour. His style is utterly different to anyone else Ive ever worked with before, and I have no doubt Ive learned a few things along the way.

Update 23 September 2010

Casting is over. All roles filled. Some tough choices were made. Just need to knock out my shot list and confirm some crew and one location.

Update 1 October 2010

Locations / Cast locked.

Need to arrange some props etc but all straight forward.

Rehearsal day tomorrow, and we will also be shooting our opening sequence.

Update 3 October 2010

Opening sequence shot and edited.

Update 9 October 2010

Good shoot last night. Touch drawn out due to a location sound issue where we had to wait for the property manager to drive down and sort it out. Three phone calls yesterday apparently wasnt enough to remind the person about switching something off. Got some pretty pictures.

My small crew worked hard and rocked it.

Update 11 October 2010

Its in the can.

My poor cast and crew just endured a shoot that was beyond anything anyone could ask of anyone. 3.27 am here now, and we just finished a 9 hour shoot of which 6 hours were exterior in torrential rain. In fact we had to abandon the location before we could get the last shot due to the fact that the bridge we crossed to the location was starting to disappear underwater, yes our location was flooding. One of the crew came running up and said the bridge is going under. I looked around and we were surrounded by water. We pulled down the set in record time. The generator did an amazing job as when we went over to it, it was actually fully half under water. I almost abandoned some lighting, the water was rising so fast. But we managed to get everything and everyone out. I was last running across the bridge that was starting to get some real speed to the water on top. Another 15 minutes and we would have had to camp on the hill on the other side for the night. Not a good thing as we were all starting to get pretty soaked through.

Showers and a hot dinner brought back the smiles.

Update 13 October 2010

Rough is coming along nicely. I spent a lot of time on storyboards / shots, and they are all cutting together as Id expected.

Update 20 October 2010

Almost finished with the audio. The last piece of the puzzle. Got the score from Herman today. I gave Herman a brief, sent him the cut. Im just curious as to how he completely exceeds my expectations every time. How talented he is.

This will be my first personal narrative shot on a 5DMKII and youll see why when you see it.

Welcome Noel...of course this means I'm out...WAY too much talent
in this fest! (yes, this includes you too Rod:laugh:)

Cheers & looking forward the film.

If you need help with the title and already have the script, I can take a look at your story and give you a half a dozen title ideas. Just here if you need, Noel.

Cheers Charli. Still doing some work on the script. Mostly tweaks. I have a solid base. Will finalise it this week.

And why give me a four star thread rating :( Was I bad?

Anyway something more informative... Ive enlisted a forum member who has a knack for this style of writing to help get me to final draft. Can you guess who?

Alongside the script process I have been putting my director / cinematography hat on and making some decisions on the style and design. Its been really exciting actually to tackle a thriller - as Ive never shot a piece like this before.

Also one of the things I am working hard to do is give the protagonist an emotionally dramatic element, something that helps drive the story and gives them a greater depth of urgency. How successful that is, I will leave to those that view it.

Cheers Mr Merry.

I'll pop the cherry on who Im working with on the script see first page.

One of the things I like to do is try my hand working with as many talented people as I possibly can - it helps me learn. And Im sure those that know him, will agree that my co screenplay writer is certainly talented.
