Deadline for ballot submission

Whew, I just did. Watched them all every one, commented as my brain was able to form coherent thoughts.

Unbelievable entries this time, guys! Amazed and stunned and amazed some more. Well done!!!!

Midnight tonight is the "soft" deadline. Please try to get them in tonight if possible. But Jarred will accept ballots tomorrow at the latest.

Remember they go to contact@dvxuser

Hmm, I just realized I sent mine forma different e-mail address than the one I used to sign up. Is that problematic?

:)

Even though you guys aren't quite on the same page, if I were anyone who's not gotten them in yet, I'd error on the side of caution & hurry it up.

Turned mine in yesterday (or Friday night?), and was able to view, comment and vote on every single film. Felt good to be able to do so.

No it doesn't just turn in what you have completed by this evening. You don't have to have voted ALL the films ... just have to complete ALL the scores for any film you do decide to vote on.

If a film receives less votes than another, in SOME cases that could actually be a good thing, as it's the total average that's weighed in the end.

Then later, as you have time, try to at least watch all the films & comment in their threads. I know you've already commented on ours, which I appreciate. Thanks!

Oh yeah ... k, scratch what I said ... unless you can spend the next SEVERAL hours on DVXuser, searching all the forums, and trying to make another 18 meaningful posts. :)

LOL, hhmmm!!!! Me? erm 'meaningful' hhhmmm!!!! let me think now...........

btw

You're welcome :)

Just sent my in. I honestly forgot about voting altogether... I watched a bunch of films, posted some comments and left it at that. Untill I saw this thread. I regret having not seen more entries prior to voting, but I really didn't have time to view everything I downloaded.

Also, is it just me or the ballot/rating thing is not working 100% of the time? See I rated 2 films, step by step - cinematography, screenplay, acting etc. - but in the end the one I liked more actually came out being rated LOWER... I mean it may not be as good in the cinematography/lighting/sound or score departments, but I just happen to enjoy it more...

Vic--

I had that too to a degree. I think in part it's because there are 4 techical cateogies but only 1 for story and 1 for acting. Which makes sense for what we're doing here, and for the prizes and all, but for those of us who think that the story is just as important as the presentation of the story it wieghts things oddly.

Hey all, good to hear that a lot of you have gotten in your ballots! I agree with Norm, try to get them in asap. :)

I'll just agree that I was also mildly disappointed with the rating system balance. I also had a few times when my final score did not reflex my true opinion. In the end my 'screenplay' category became a litmus of the overall story and execution, so I think it should have been double-weighted at least (rather than part of the simple average).

This isn't a complaint, though. It's just a suggestion for the next competition.

Sent mine in a few hours ago. Can't wait to see how badly my film lost... Tomorrow? I guess it's as soon as Jarred gets off his (hard-working, very patient, stalwort) butt and gets those numbers together.

Why do you think your film will lose? that's a defeatest attitude.
To me, you are all winners, as you have actually got off your own 'butts' and done something.
