Loved the Monkees TV show when I was a kid. So long, Davy.

Just heard. How sad. RIP, Davy.

And of course...

I didn't know this was a "made for tv" group. I just always thought they were a band from that era.

I thought the same thing. But they were apparently packaged, Hollywood-style, and the band was put together through a casting call!

Neil Diamond wrote a few of their big hits. I always loved the show.

For the record, Peter Tork left the band first. My man Nesmith always gets the blame.

They were too busy singin' to put anybody down.

This might be bootleg.....But this is one of my favorite scenes from the Brady Movie:

Why does that frame say "Peter" yet show Mike?

[Terry_Lasater]

Apparently, that was a gag throughout the opening (of that episode, at least). At first, each cast member was mislabeled as Peter "erroneously" as their facial expressions showed surprise. Later, they were correctly labeled as a relieved expression was shown on their faces.

Ah, heck... it sounds stupid when trying to explain it, just watch it.

Yes, that was great scene! Too bad that clip is such a craptastic recording.
