data recovery?

one of my 500GB drives died with some very very important data on there and I need to try to get that data off of it. Anyone know of a good data recovery company? Thanks.

I bought a 500 Lacie and it failed after a month. They recommended Drivesavers.com (which gives you a 10% discount) 1-800-440-1904 and On trac 1-888-567-8328. They are pricey but I'm going with drivesavers as I need the data urgently.

Was it the 500GB big disk? because that same thing happened to me. Luckily for me the data I transfered over was still on a back up drive and Lacie replaced the drive that failed for free. This time however it was a internal 500GB WD drive that just craped out on me after a system restart :furious3: But thanks for the recommendation I will be giving them a call later this afternoon!

I see so many issues with the Lacies.

I don't know if it is because so many are sold, or because the mechanism fails so often.

Try File Scavenger. I used version 3.01 some time ago and it was awesome, keeping file structures intact.
