Damage from hack? Overheating damage?

Hey gang, I saw this post recently and it prompted me to ask if anyone has noticed any sensor damage from their hacked Gh1s? I'm about to start a documentary project with mine (and a new GH2 if it's not too terribly delayed). Has anyone had any noticeable damage? I would say I've maybe logged 20 hours of video and only shot 30 mins for a single shot about 4 times. I've used some fairly conservative settings on my GH1 and mostly shoot AVCHD.

Here's the post I read: http://scarletwhore.com/?p=1396

Thanks for any feedback. Judging by the site I'm sure that it's a bunch of bunk but I had to ask. It's not like you can cool a hacked camera down the way you do an over clocked computer CPU.

about that site was somewhere in forum already ... they are not in reality ... noone was confirmed any damage by hack.
there no any overclock ...
hack work the same as parameters change of any audio/video (example mp3 / xvid / h.264 - all have some checkboxes) coding - that actions not overclock your computer ...
hacks simple allow to manage similar values/checkboxes ...

The hack doesn't touch the sensor. It just encodes more data than it would without it, pretty much.

I have already taken single shots of more than an hour and I never got any overheating problems. Neither with nor without the hack.

Nah, that Scarletwhore site is a gag site. It's sole existence is to piss people off. It's fake. It's retarded. It's just not true.

Last august I shot two 15 hours days in 104F sun without even shading the 2 hacked cameras i used. No overheating, no corruptions, no problems at all. 2 weeks ago I shot 10 days straight, 15 hour days on 2 cameras and not a single problem with overheating, corruption, errors or anything.

That also doesn't take into account the hundreds, if not thousands of hours in various production preparation tests and such.

It's straight up BS for anyone to say that the hack damages the camera.

There is only instance where someone apparently bricked the unit as a result of the hack. It was to do with some experimental patch Vitaliy flagged as dangerous. It was removed immediately by Vitaliy. I haven't follows that thread further to see if the guy got his unit working again. Apparently the guy did not do the ROM(?) backup before the patch.

Other than that, the hack is only likely to damage your pocket as you want more and more things to do justice to the camera :)

Excellent. That's what I thought. Thanks for all the feedback. Very much appreciated. Looking forward now to shooting on the GH2 as well. Happy Holidays all.
