I went out to the Dallas World Aquarium over the weekend to test out my Canon 550d/T2i with a Canon 50mm lens. I also wanted to get more practice shooting on an HDSLR. All the footage is shot handheld on the Canon Rebel 550D/T2i hdslr camera with a canon 50mm 1.8 lens. Shot in full HD 1920x1080 (1080p) 24fps. Edited in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. No color correction.

I got so much footage that I decided to separate it out into 4 short films.

1. Dallas World Aquarium - Strange Creatures & Animals
This is a glimpse at some of the more strange looking fish, birds, creatures I saw there, mixed in with a few animals.

This is a compilation of some footage of fish. These fish are all seperated based on the region of the world they are from. The fish come from Palau, Southern Australia, Lord Howe Island, the Solomon Islands, Fiji, New Guinea, British Columbia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Japan.

next time you wanna take a tripod with ya.

maybe a monopod

I've never been there before so wasn't sure what to expect, I would have probably done a few things differently looking back. The place was so packed that you had people constantly hovering and waiting behind you to get a glimpse at something. People would literally step on you and bump into you not watching where they were going as they stared at things. Plus all the kids running around. Then you had all this flash going off everywhere which I had to cut around in the end. If anyone saw you capturing something decent, they had to get a photo at that same exact moment. I kept thinking, "turn your flash off!" :Drogar-Shock(DBG):

One guy brought his tripod and just kept it on his back in the shoulder bag because it was too packed. It was so packed that they had to stay open an extra hour and a half after they closed because there were too many people to kick out. I think the best thing to do is go on the weekday. I had fun though. :-Happy(DBG):
