D600 is out

The D800 has, but still it is a great improvement over the old Canons in this regard (it is there, but it appears much less often). If the D600 is not any worse than that, it's good enough for me. I want to hear about internal codec and DR (I'll download that clip when I get home), and about WB (I've had some issues with the D800 in this area).

I'm reading plenty about NO aperture changes in Live View with auto lenses. But does anyone know, or have read about aperture changes with auto lenses during recording HDMI out?

Can somebody tell me where they find moire in this video, I watched it in 720p for now and can't find any. Downloading the higher rez now.

Watched the 1080p version. Very very little moire on the lens barrel when the guy moves it and a little aliasing/moire on the guys eyeglass. Sincerely I had to look frame by frame to see it, more so that the guy had a camera bag and strap which are notorious for rainbow moire. I find the image very encouraging, high rez with very very low moire. The jello also seems ok.

To say that Nikon has done anything about Moire is exaggerated I think, if you compare it to Canon except the no detail mush 5d3, it really really low at least in this example. More test with brick wall will need to be done to have a proper conclusion.

Agree, I see just a trace of well controlled moire in this clip. Probably not long until the brick wall and rooftop shots start showing up and then we will know for sure. But right now, it is looking good.

The filmmakers behind the Chasing the Light video answered a question about what lenses they had used. I must say that had some nice glass available :)

Yes truly ugly, but I don't know about the D600, but using a D800 I have seen youtube videos that were nothing indicative of the image quality of the D800. Typically they are mostly done by photographers that crank the sharpness and saturation max that tend with youtube to exaggerate the moire/aliasing a lot. Now will have to see more to be sure.
