D5200 Anyone got it ???

Interlace looks bad

Well, I don't know about others but I am able to get an idea on the camera's performance a little better as videos slowly start coming out. And this one was helpful to me, interlaced or not. I am aware that not everybody is able to look at it from that perspective. Only experience and knowledge will help you do that!

I agree with both points of view...lol, the combing is really distracting, but I can see through that as well with a couple of watches and see the nice performance. ;)

I looked at a D5200 yesterday in a camera shop and went through the menu. When set on manual the live view, the view screen had a bad rolling effect from the florescent lighting. It was set correctly for this region Pal @1080. The problem only went away in auto mode. Anybody else see this?

Yeah as I suspected it's the same sensor sans OLPF. Rigs is doing a lens cap ISO noise test so I can compare the 2 to confirm it.

New D5200 film test https://vimeo.com/63379883 The dynamic range is great, so are the colours, I did minimal colour correction on this. Standard profile +1 sharpening, -1 contrast, -1 saturation. The light kept changing which made it a bastard to grade and expose.

I looked up the lens compatibility and the 5200 like the former models still can't meter with AI / AIS manual lenses. I'm getting the D7100 mostly because I really need a good stills camera that can do half ass autofocus job for events.

a quick test I did, comparing GH3 with Nikon D5200, the short source files. It seems that at ISO 1600 GH3 produces more noise, but it's sharper , also GH3 produces that pink, Canon look :), which I have a hard time with, let me know what you think. Also GH3 has a bit more moire. PS (I messed a bit with the balnce, but still the pink look is annoying on GH3)
GH3 may have a bit more of a latitude.

After seeing a $100.00 instant discount on the D5200 body at the B&H website and the Black Magic camera announcement the next day I finally saw the light and pulled the plug on the D5200 instead of the D7100. The money saved goes into a piggy bank for the pocket BMC. These are some random scenes right after walking out of BH. Some takes have minor tweaks with the Sony Vegas Levels filter.
